Bastiat's main idea in this famous pamphlet is to show why and how The Law has become "the battlefield of all covetousness", that is, a source of privileges... since it is admitted in principle that The Law can be Twisted from its true mission, which can violate properties instead of guaranteeing them, a struggle of classes or groups necessarily follows, either to defend themselves against the Plundering, or to organize it for their own benefit.
